So we’ve had CoD4:MW and CoD:WaW released within the last two years, and now a question arises: is it too soon to release the next installment in the CoD franchise? According to what Activision CFO Thomas Tippl had to say, the answer is hell no. Tippl announced that not only will CoD: Modern Warfare 2 be released by this holiday season, but that it is “looking incredible.”

In an annual Wedbush Morgan Securities meeting, Tippl talked about CoD:MW2, and spoke very highly of the game. He even predicted it to be one of the top sellers of the year. Tippl said “We expect it will be the most anticipated game of the year. Perhaps the number one game of the year despite the fact that it’s only going to launch in the holiday season.” Tough talk, Tippl. Tough talk. But I’m sure nobody has any doubts about Infinity Ward and their ability to make some amazing FPS games. If you doubt them, shame on you. So get ready to kick some ass this holiday, folks!
