When people discuss the plethora of new IPs that EA put out last year they seem to forget about Army of Two. Maybe it’s because it didn’t land during the holiday season, or maybe it’s because the game just wasn’t that memorable. Still the game did have its strong points, and it was definitely one of those games that you wanted a sequel to because you knew they could do it so much better. Now we have that sequel in Army of Two: The 40th Day which was just officially announced by EA Montreal.
This time around Rios and Salem will be co-oping their way through a city under siege, hoping to survive. That city is Shanghai and you (and hopefully a friend) will have to tear through it with lots of guns after a series of mysterious occurrences have devastated the city. The two bromancing soldiers are on a quest to find out what the 40th Day, a name for the series of disasters we’re guessing, is all about. The game will feature a plethora of new co-op moves that EA is promising will give players “a bigger, better, more organic and immersive” gameplay experience. Hopefully the ideas behind the first game remain intact, while the execution improves.
Army of Two: The 40th Day will hit the 360, PS3 and a bit surprisingly the PSP. Maybe we’ll get some PSP/PS3 connectivity going on there?

If they fix some of the little annoyances from AoT a sequel could be really fun.

Yeah, it wasn’t that bad… just, like you said, not memorable.

wow good one. Seems like you’re one of the first blogs with this news. I’ll try the demo first, but right now I’m really enjoying playing with a friend so the game has good chances
