This is the year of Resident Evil on the Wii, with Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and two ports courtesy of the Resident Evil “Classics” Line officially confirmed by Capcom.
The Darkside Chronicles, the sequel to last year’s rail-based shooter The Umbrella Chronicles, will take place in the timeline of Resident Evil 2, with series stars Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield fighting back the zombie hordes in “a more in-depth co-op experience.” The game, set to release this winter, will supposedly fill in some story holes left by The Umbrella Chronicles.
Capcom is also Wii-making the GameCube’s Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil, finessing the controls to take advantage of the Wii remote’s motion sensing capabilities. We’re excited to see what they do with these classic titles - the intuitive, simple controls for the Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition made it the definitive version. Both Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil are set to be priced at $29.99, with release dates and more details coming soon. You can check out the trailer after the jump too.

I’m interested in seeing how the remade versions of RE0 and RE will look with the RE4 style. I’m disappointed that the Darkside Chronicles is only going to be RE2, seems like Code Veronica isn’t getting any love.

Yea, I’d love to play Code Veronica (one of the best RE games IMO) … maybe time to break out the ol’ Dreamcast…

Kira, 0 and 1 won’t be RE4 style. The only difference is that you can play with the Remote and have the save files on your Wii instead of a Memory Card. There won’t be widescreen, nor better resolutions. It’s so lazy I wouldn’t even call it a port because you can just play the GC version on your Wii.

Thanks for the clarification Dom. Well if that’s the case then I’ll just stick with my Gamecube versions. Seriously Capcom, If you’re going to re-release a game, at least put some effort into it.
