Tiger Woods 10 hits in June, Wii version supports MotionPlus
BY Lee Bradley Mar. 12th, 2009 More on:

Are you sitting down? Good, because we have massive news for you. MASSIVE. In a shock announcement that has caught the gaming world completely unprepared, EA Sports have announced the release of Tiger Woods 10. I’ll say that again: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is coming out and it ships on June 16. Who. Could. Have. Guessed?

We jest, of course. Tiger Woods‘ latest release is as inevitable as the next Sonic game being a great big steaming pile of horse crap. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be sporting a whole heap of tweaks, improvements and new features with which to lure in potential upgraders. First and foremost among these is confirmation that the Wii version of the game will be one of the first titles to support Wii MotionPlus, allowing players to draw and fade the ball by opening or closing the clubface and requiring extra accuracy when trying to down that tricky winning putt.

On the other formats, EA have focused on improving the atmosphere of the game by erm… putting more people in the crowd. The mumbling masses will now be breathing down your neck on every shot, and you’ll even be able to hear them whooping and hollering over at the next hole if your competitor does something impressive. In addition to this, Tiger Woods 10 will also feature real-time weather, “television broadcast style presentation” and a new announcer team of ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt and the Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman. Disappointingly, the addition of some goon that screams “get in the hooole!” every 3 seconds is yet to be confirmed.
