Blizzard to hold creative writing contest
BY John Slefinger Mar. 15th, 2009 More on:

Fancy yourself a fantasy fiction writer? Do you dream nightly of powerful gnarled staffs, magical gems, and enchanted scimitars? Well, it seems as though Blizzard has a contest for you.

1UP is reporting via Kotaku that Blizzard is holding a creative fanfic writing contest. To enter, write a 3000 to 10,000 word story based on the StarCraft, Warcraft, or Diablo worlds. The grand prize is a real Frostmourne sword, plus a trip to Irvine, California and a tour of the Blizzard Entertainment headquarters. The seven runners up will receive signed copies of StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo novels.

Finally, you’ll be able to make the case that yes, fanfic writing is a really cool hobby, and could provide you with a lavish future. And who knows what crazy parties Blizzard will throw in your honor? Like I always say, whatever happens in Irvine, stays in Irvine. The rest of the details and official rules are here. Good luck!
