Chinatown Wars theme is yours for the taking, no hostages needed
BY Chad George Mar. 18th, 2009 More on:

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an ambitious game and Rockstar knows it. Trying to bring one of the industry’s most highly revered (or reviled depending on your point of view) game franchises to, quite possibly, the most family friendly gaming device is a challenge to say the least. Being infamous has its perks though, especially when two of the largest names in hip hop decide to re-record your theme song.

Ghostface Killah and MF Doom have taken the opening theme from Chinatown Wars, gave it some lyrics, kicked it in the teeth, and shoved it out of a moving vehicle. Have a listen above and then go here to download the original and remix versions. Special thanks to Dom for the heads up.

You’re right on the money. The game truly does advance the GTA series and make the DS look a whole lot sexier. They’ve got a cool site up at http://www.gamestopchinatown.com too.
