Resident Evil 6 may take eight years to develop |

It almost seems standard for developers to start talking about sequels shortly after a game is released. To the producer of Resident Evil 5 Masachika Kawata’s credit, he was only responding to a question posed to him during an interview with The Gadget Show and not intentionally stirring the pot. Kawata said Capcom hasn’t decided whether it will make Resident Evil 6 yet, but it could take up to 8 years to complete. It’s Capcoms hope to finish it in four years though. Kawata’s comment on Capcom not being sure on RE6 is contrary to what RE5’s other producer Jun Takeuchi said to 1UP back in February about RE6 being inevitable and that it will reboot the franchise. It sounds like there’s a little miscommunication going on at Capcom.

Oh, I hope they make RE6! It would be awesome if Wesker is still alive. I would definely buy it then.

Reboot the franchise. Don’t think twice about it. Just do it. The REAL Resident Evil fans will appreciate it, and have been anticipating it for a long time.
And eight years to create a sequel seems a little long. I’m only ranting about this because I am a hardcore Resident Evil fan, and have been playing since the day the first Resident Evil came out. I was very disappointed in Resident Evil 5, after waiting multiple years for it. When it finally came out, I nearly shat bricks. It was horrible in mine, and a myriad of others’ opinions.
PLEASE reboot this franchise, and make it the best damn Resident Evil you’ve ever made.
