It almost seems standard for developers to start talking about sequels shortly after a game is released. To the producer of Resident Evil 5 Masachika Kawata’s credit, he was only responding to a question posed to him during an interview with The Gadget Show and not intentionally stirring the pot. Kawata said Capcom hasn’t decided whether it will make Resident Evil 6 yet, but it could take up to 8 years to complete. It’s Capcoms hope to finish it in four years though. Kawata’s comment on Capcom not being sure on RE6 is contrary to what RE5‘s other producer Jun Takeuchi said to 1UP back in February about RE6 being inevitable and that it will reboot the franchise. It sounds like there’s a little miscommunication going on at Capcom.
