Titmouse and Heavy Metal partner to create scantily-clad videogames
BY Kristen Spencer Mar. 25th, 2009 More on:

Already hard at work on the zombie pirate adventure Seven Haunted Seas, recently formed studio Titmouse Games has announced a partnership with Kevin Eastman, co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and publisher/editor of the near naked illustrated fantasy magazine, Heavy Metal.

The tit-tastic pair will partner to create a number of digitally distributed videogames based on the magazine’s extensive catalog of sexy sci-fi stories, the first being Fistful of Blood, described as “an over-the-top action game about an Alien Bounty Huntress who comes to Earth in search of the creature that killed her father, only to find herself caught in a blood feud between rival gangs of Vampires and Zombies.” And you thought it was going to be something silly.

“We want to start Titmouse Games off right, and I can’t think of a better way than to pack enough aliens, zombies, vampires, guns, blood, gore, vengeance, and sexy chicks in a game to take down a stampeding elephant,” says Aaron Habibipour, Creative Director for Titmouse Games.

The late 70’s and early 80’s of game ideas… reborn. History does indeed repeat.

The magazines fiction has always ranged anything between comedicly absurd, dark and gory, and porn. It looks as though they’re starting from the comedicly absurd spectrum which is fine but I’d really like to see some games made with the same aura and aesthetics of either of the Heavy Metal movies. I’ve read Heavy Metal for years and know that some of the most talented comic writers and other fantasy patrons have done exceptional work for the magazine. If Titmouse can tap into that it would bring something really fresh to videogames.

We can’t really complain about absurd fantasy, I mean how many of us can contribute the beginning of our love for video games to a tiny Italian plumber who really likes mushrooms?
