VC and WiiWare releases for the week of March 30
BY Matthew Razak Mar. 30th, 2009 More on:

See that title up there. You know the boring one that basically tells you what these posts have been about and the date they apply to? It’s probably going to have to change. See, after this week the DSi is launching and Nintendo will be revealing content for that through the DSi Shop along with their VC and WiiWare stuff. Plus, somewhere down the road we’re going to have the VC Arcade hitting us. Considering that “VC, WiiWare, VCA and DSiS releases for the week of…” is quite a mouthful, we’ll probably be coming up with a far more clever name. For now relish the last week of solely VC and WiiWare releases with the release of Bonsai Barber (Nintendo, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone-Comic Mischief, 1,000 Wii Points) for WiiWare and Super Punch-Out!! (Super NES™, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points) for the VC.

If I have to explain why Super Punch-Out!! is coming out this week than you haven’t been paying attention to our GDC coverage. The new Punch-Out!! is almost here, celebrate with the old one! The game practically sells itself, especially if the challenge level of the new one turns out not to be as high as the original.

Bonsai Barber is a first-person grooming simulation. Before you fall off your chair in laughter the game seems to be doing some interesting stuff with the Wii console. You’ll be tasked to cut five different customers hair a day and if you miss an appointment you’ll get an angry letter on your Wii. It looks like you get to experiment with styles too, you aren’t just locked in to the request of the customer. I’ll admit I’m intrigued here.
