Today is the day the internet explodes with fake ‘PlayStation 4 coming out next year’ stories and revelations that Shenmue 3 has been announced, all thanks to April Fool’s day. We wouldn’t do that, of course, we’re far too mature *cough*. But we’re not against it, oh no. Some of them are brilliant. In fact, some of them are awesome.

Take this one. It seems that the story we reported last week, about the possibility of Raiden taking centre stage in the next Metal Gear game, was just an elaborate hoax from everybody’s favourite stealthy game designer, Hideo Kojima. During his keynote speech at the Game Developers Conference, Kojima popped a sneaky little image of what appeared to be Raiden in the top corner of one of his slides, prompting the internet to… well, if it didn’t explode it certainly let out a particularly loud fart.

But it was all a ruse. We don’t want to give it away so just follow this link to the Konami website. It may not be quite as good as Kojima’s effort last year, but it’s still pretty damn good.
