BY Lee Bradley Apr. 1st, 2009 More on:

There’s some high-fiving going on at Activision headquarters after the announcement that the recent World at War map pack shifted a staggering 1 million units in its first weekend of availability. That means that between Mar. 19 and Mar. 22, PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE tills across the world rang to the tune of around $10 million in sales.

“I’m proud that the team at Treyarch delivered an experience that so many people are enjoying,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We’re excited that the success of Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 will continue to drive the popularity of the game’s Nazi Zombie mode, competitive multiplayer and chart-breaking success online.”

In further World at War backslapping news, Microsoft have announced that the DLC map pack has set a record for first-week downloads over Xbox Live, with more that 150 million multiplayer sessions recorded since the pack was released on Mar. 19.
