Studying and adapting the advanced artifacts of the Protheans, humanity has mastered interstellar travel, established numerous colonies and encountered extraterrestrial species, all at the expense of elevator technology. The original Mass Effect was infamous for its slow ass elevator loading sequences, an annoyance that BioWare is addressing in the upcoming sequel.
“We have a completely new system to handle transitions between areas that speeds the load times and turns the loads themselves into part of the game experience,” said Casey Hudson, executive director of Mass Effect 2, in an interview with MTV Multiplayer. “It’s one of many points of feedback we’ve heard and directly responded to in enhancing the gameplay in ‘Mass Effect 2.’”
