30% of Call of Duty 4 players don’t get it |

According to data gathered by Infinity Ward, 30% never touched the single-player campaign in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Shocking, I know, but luckily not entirely true. Infinity Ward came to this conclusion by studying the different Achievements players gained, thus it only counts those who are connected to Xbox LIVE. Basically we’re missing out on all the PC- and PlayStation 3-players. However, taking into account that around 10 million CoD 4-players are connected the result should still be considered pretty valid.
It’s quite interesting to think about why 3 out of 10 players completely ignored the campaign. It’s a shame if the fact that it’s one hell of an enjoyable and intense gaming experience passed them by completely unnoticed. Multiplayer die-hards do exist, but can they really be this many? My guess is that many of these singe player-neglectors simply pirated the game, finished the campaign, and then got the cravings for some online action. I’m just having a hard time accepting that 3 million gamers are clever enough to buy a perfectly good game and then ignore half of it.

Wow. Ever since the original CoD, I’ve always made it the tradition to play the singleplayer before even touching the multiplayer. The majority of the campaigns in the franchise are just too epic to just ignore.

I completely ignored it until recently. I just never liked the CoD single player options. Also I got it to play with my cousin online and co-op wasnt an option.

you can go online with a “pirated” copy on xbox live so your argument doesn’t hold much water about pirating the game and then getting the itch to go on multi-player

I can understand it in other games, but CoD4’s single player is too important to skip. If you consider yourself a gamer you have to play it simply to see how the single player of a game can truly be powerful.

I view and FPS storyline the same as a fighting game. Its usually a generic string of events put together to give a setting in which capturing a flag and respawning makes the slightest bit of sense. Both are almost always better played with a friend.
Not to mention Call of Duty’s enemy A.I. system. How many nazi’s do I have to kill in that one room house with my sniper rifle before it’s safe to move up? Instead, if you just sprint to the house after killing one of them, the house is magically empty and your A.I. troops will finally move up.
Ah the pain of only playing on Veteran I guess.

No way, one reason i love COD4 it is because the SINGLE PLAYER MOMENT, i love the game since then, after i finished the hardened level, than i play the multiplayer game, & its rock. If i not playing from single player 1st, i would not touch the multiplayer…
