Billions of achievements served
BY Chad George Apr. 5th, 2009 More on:

According to Aaron Greenberg, Xbox’s director of product management, since their inception, gamers have unlocked over 52 billion Gamerscore points. That totals over 2.5 billion Achievements unlocked, or an average of 150 little bla-doop sounds for each Xbox Live member.

The drive to unlock those, otherwise useless points, is one of the main talking points in a Gamasutra feature. While Microsoft did not invent the Achievement, they did bring them to the mainstream and caused others to perk up and add them to their own products.

We don’t think the Achievements that are too easy should be counted in that total, yeah we’re looking at you King Kong. Has anyone got an Achievement or trophy they wish they could hide?
