Okay, I’ve already given away the good news in the title of this post – Shadow of the Colossus is getting a silver screen adaptation.
Now brace yourselves for the bad news. Said adaptation is reportedly being penned by Justin Marks, the brilliant wordsmith behind Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Biz Blog, Team Ico’s boss battling masterpiece is being developed for feature film release courtesy of Sony and producer Kevin Misher, responsible for films such as The Scorpion King, The Interpreter and the upcoming Channing Tatum-helmed Fighting.
Heaping more sadness onto our fail plate, they go on to report that when Marks is done raping the beaten, battered corpses of our beloved colossi, he will be penning a “reimagining” of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe for Warners and Joel Silver. Looks like you’re the only pure childhood memory left, My Little Ponies.
