2K Sports has given the cover spot for the upcoming arcade-y baseball game for all consoles and PSP, The Bigs 2, to Prince Fielder. The Milwaukee Brewers first baseman not only holds the MLB record for the youngest player to hit 50 home runs in a single season, but is also a gamer like us. “I’ve been playing baseball video games for as long as I can remember. All of my idols have appeared on a video game cover, and now to have that same opportunity is truly an unbelievable feeling,” said Fielder. “I can’t wait to see myself in The BIGS 2. I’ll be the guy crushing mammoth home runs into the stands.”
Although we told you about The Bigs 2 last month we still know nothing about basic gameplay other than what we have seen in the previous game. Greg Thomas, senior vice president of sports development for 2K teases us by saying, “After reading through all the different community message boards and forums, we’re excited to deliver a variety of new features that our fans have long been clamoring for, as they’ll surely notice the big leagues just got bigger this season.” We should have more information on what these new features are by the time the game hits shelves on June 7.
