The Rabbids are going home
BY Luke Walker Apr. 9th, 2009 More on:

Finally, after five mini-game riddled releases on six systems Ubisoft is sending the Rabbids home. They aren’t being retired though. No, this is a promotion. Ubisoft has announced that the Rabbids will be getting their first standalone title his Holiday season. It will be strange to see the little screaming psychopaths without Rayman, but stranger still to see them ditch the mini-game genre for an adventure in Rabbids Go Home.

Rabbids Go Home is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the team behind the original Rayman Raving Rabbids as well as Beyond Good & Evil. They are using a brand new engine as well, one that’s specifically designed for the Wii. The laughs, we’re sure, are still key as the Rabbids try to make it home and from there insanity ensues.

The Rabbids have been one of the most recognizable public faces for the Wii and to date have sold over 6.5 million copies of their crazy antic filled games. Staring in their own game is logical and releasing for the Holidays is right on par with the previous games. We’re eager to see how the Rabbids fare in an adventure game (we’re actually just hoping that we can play as the Altair Rabbid, or control them with our asses on the Balance Board), but either way it should be worth the laughs.

Always liked the trailers and the bunny screams. If only they’d make a non-mini-game one for the big boys..
