Burnout Paradise gives us cops and robbers footage
BY Chad George Apr. 15th, 2009 More on:

Is there nothing the Criterion team can do wrong? From bringing us the cars from our television childhoods to the micro-machine goodness, without that really fast talking guy, Burnout Paradise is always raising the bar. The next update to the manic racing game will apparently bring us the Cops and Robbers mode. No word on exactly what that is or how much it will cost, but from the video it seems as though there will be a police skin for every car in the game.

We are all giddy in anticipation of busting some speeding punks. Oh, maybe EA will give us handcuffs instead of brass knuckles this time. Rawr!

The irritating thing is the cost of these cars. I’ve got every car in the game (from playing the game), and bought every car to date. If the car sets weren’t so expensive I’d probably buy all of the upcoming ones too, but I’m getting a bit burned out on them. The new cars are interesting, but I find that if you’ve already played the game there’s not much entertainment derived from them that would make it worth 2-4$ per car skin. They must be making an absolute killing off of them. I wonder if Criterion is coming up with the pricing or if it’s our friends a EA. Brass knuckles and all.

The hot rod boost special car has been the only one to actually allow you to do something that you really couldn’t before. Get a 5x barrel roll off of the damn. Otherwise… I’m not sure why I really paid so much.
