Updated / Assassin’s Creed II confirmed for Holiday 2009
BY Rain Anderson Apr. 16th, 2009 More on:

Update: The big teases they are, Ubisoft have released another teaser trailer. See above.

Original: Ubisoft has just shot over the official announcement of Assassin’s Creed II, which states the game will be coming this Holiday season on “all current-generation platforms,” which presumably means PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC.

Patrice Desilets, creative director at Ubisoft, says their creative team is working hard to top the experience of the original game, “We’ve made improvements to every aspect of the game. We’ve plunged ourselves into the stunning history of the Italian Renaissance so that we can offer fans a unique, varied and innovative Assassin’s Creed experience.”

The release also mentions that the missions will have more variety, there’ll be more weapons to use, and Ezio, the betrayed noble that has taken the place of Altair as the playable character. in other words, nothing we didn’t already know. But there was a bigger version of Ezio’s fancy outfit included.

Variety FTW! Though I hope the missions haven’t changed to “talk to the merchant”

Assuming by the news the other day that they took out the pickpocket and eavesdropping missions (which I actually enjoyed to some extent), I would guess there wouldn’t be too much “talking to merchant” missions either. All I hope is that they improved on the original. I actually really liked the original quite a bit, but it really got boring towards the end since it was so repetitive. The final fight was actually pretty decent as well.
