Crunching Numbers / March 2009 NPD sales

Today the NPD Group released the sales figures for March 2009 and there are a few surprises. The most selling software title last month was Resident Evil 5 on the Xbox 360 with 938K units sold. Two other Xbox 360 titles, Halo Wars (639K) and Major League Baseball 2K9 (205K), also graced the top ten. Another sports title, MLB 09 The Show (305K), even managed to outsell Killzone 2 (296K) if only by a small margin. Nintendo platforms still had four titles in the top ten led by Pokemon Platinum (805K) on the DS. Overall videogame sales have fallen 17% since February.
