The Wii has some big games coming says Reggie
BY Matthew Razak Apr. 17th, 2009 More on:

The recent NPD sales have the gaming industry in a bit of a slump. Not that it’s doing badly in comparison to other industries around the world, but the March sales had the entire industry slumping about 17 percent. What can gaming companies do to combat this? Release must buy games of course. According to Reggie Fils-Aim that is exactly what Nintendo will be doing.

Reggie cited “a number of important new titles” coming for Wii and DS, and said that Nintendo is “confident that we’ll continue to see very strong hardware sales behind those launch titles.” Of course we’re pretty sure that part of what he is referring to is the new Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus which are already top sellers on Amazon. In all honesty, I don’t think it’s Nintendo that needs to worry about a sales slump. 17 percent off a bajillion dollars is still a lot of money.

If they want to re-capture Japan, they better have some new games coming.
