It looks to be a pretty good week for those who download Nintendo games. Of course I’d say that about any week that had Dr. Mario Express (Nintendo, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Nintendo DSi Points) coming out in it. Luckily the rest of the line up isn’t too bad either. Accompanying Dr. Mario on the DSi is Master of Illusion Express: Deep Psyche (Nintendo, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 200 Nintendo DSi Points) and on the VC we have Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Cartoon Violence, 900 Wii Points) which is accompanied by CRYSTAL DEFENDERS R1 (SQUARE ENIX, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points) on WiiWare.
Dr. Mario is indeed Dr. Mario. Nothing fancy here, but if you don’t have it then getting it is always a good thing and getting it done portable style is even better. Illusion almost sucks all the coolness out of Dr. Mario with some more lame parlor tricks though.
Defenders looks very cool with a bit of reverse tower defense going on. Players must stop monsters from escaping with their crystals by using a variety of weapons. The Wonderboy series is pretty enjoyable all around so i’m guessing the third is too, though I’ve never gotten a chance with it.
