Dante’s Inferno also PSP bound
BY Kristen Spencer Apr. 22nd, 2009 More on:

Dante’s Inferno, Electronic Arts’ hellish reimagining of the medieval epic poem’s opening, will also be bringin’ the brimstone to the PSP. EA have announced that Sony’s portable system will be joining the ranks of the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC with its own version of the third-person action game, which follows a bare-chested and steroid-enhanced Dante through the nine circles of hell in his quest to free the soul of his beloved, Beatrice.

The handheld version, being developed by A2M (Wet) and EA Redwood Shores (Dead Space), will feature “the same level of fast, responsive gameplay through all nine detailed and unique circles of hell we are aiming to achieve on the consoles,” according to Jonathan Knight, the game’s executive producer and creative director. “[We] are taking the vision for Dante’s Inferno and translating it directly to the PSP.”

Barring a God of War: Chains of Olympus sequel, this should soothe the blood-lust of action-adventure aficionados quite nicely!

Maybe, this is where Dante from Devil may Cry got his name…
