Looks like the DSi is getting the short end of the stick this week with two games that can most likely be played on a TI-83 just as well: Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics (Nintendo, 1-8 players, Rated T for Teen – Simulated Gambling, 500 Nintendo DSi Points) and Paper Airplane Chase (Nintendo, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 200 Nintendo DSi Points). However, Cocoto Platform Jumper (Neko Entertainment, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone – Mild Cartoon Violence, 700 Wii Points) looks to bring us some classic style platforming on WiiWare while Nobunaga’s Ambition (Super NES, 1-8 players, Rated E for Everyone – Violent References, 800 Wii Points) returns on the VC.
Clubhouse might be nice if you want some card games to play, but seeing as there are already about 50 million games like it out on the DS the only reason to get this one is if you didn’t have any and downloading was your only option. Paper Airplane on the other hand sounds like it can be easily avoided as it doesn’t seem to be much more then a flash game where you guide a paper airplane.
Nabunaga’s is a classic strategy game that has always had a solid underground following I feel. It does some things differently and has had a pretty decent line of sequels so it might be good if you’re looking for something different. Of course the platformer is a dying breed so it just makes me happy to see Cocoto at all even if it has already been released on GC and PS2.
