First Red Steel 2 gameplay gives us some WiiMotion action |

The first gameplay footage of Red Steel 2, the new Wii game from Ubisoft due out later this year that will fully utilize the new MotionPlus technology, has surfaced. Quite possibly the biggest complaint about the previous game was the inability to actually make your Wiimote flailings affect the action on screen, but all that has been changed now according to the developers.
We sure hope so, because when we want to slice someone to shreds, we want to do it with true 1:1 motion.

Like I said on twitter last night, I’m calling shenanigans on this. This to me looks like pre-rendered/scripted PR BS.

Yup. There’s no reason to believe that’s true in game footage. Way too showy.

I think it could be real actually, if you pay close attention you can totally see that the characters aren’t all that detailed and are pretty blocky. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 100% in-game.

@Rain
Even if the graphics are in game and real, the animations and fighting are edited and choreographed, cut back and forth from the visuals to the dude with the sexually safe wiimote condom. I’m interested in seeing what this is gonna be like, but I remember them doing the same thing with Red Steel. Nice graphics for the Wii, but they’re really good at making it look like you can sword fight, even if 1:1 is possible now.
Why can’t developers just use in game footage?! It says quite a lot about your faith in the product if you can’t just…. show the product.

I’m super skeptical about this too. I really want it to be true though…
But they showed very little of the game and way too much of some dude looking foolish in front of his TV.

looks amazing but they did that with the first red steel so im going to hold on to my judgment when i see an actual in game footage. but you gotta admit, that trailer looked amazing. crosses fingers that this game will turn out good this time! :P

Other than the insane levels of AA, there’s nothing there the Wii can’t pull off. I’m cautiously optimistic.
