BioWare celebrated yesterday’s Cinco de Mayo holiday by announcing something made of paper, and it is almost as awesome as a pinata. Green Ronin Publishing will be taking the upcoming Dragon Age: Origins and turning the world of Thedas into an old school pen and paper role-playing game.
Green Ronin is no stranger to dark fantasy RPGs, with their stable of work on RPGs like Thieves’ World and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, company president Chris Pramas says “when BioWare approached us to do a pen and paper version [of Dragon Age: Origins], we had to say ‘yes!’.” BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka adds that the pen and paper version of the Dragon Age universe will be a “perfect complement to the landmark game we’re launching on PC, Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 this fall.”
Available this summer at all the usual places you would buy your twenty sided dice, the first release will be available as a boxed set. Additionally, Green Robin plans on releasing more boxed sets and supplemental books in order to further expand the Dragon Age world.
