Another day, another DJ peripheral
BY Nick Coffman May. 8th, 2009 More on:

Check out this early render for the Scratch: The Ultimate DJ peripheral. This chunk of plastic has huge buttons to simulate a sample pad, a twitch fader on the far right, and the wheel is even touch sensitive. Yesterday brought with it the reveal of Activision’s DJ Hero peripheral, which basically consisted of 3 buttons on a turntable, as far as we know.

We still don’t know when in the development cycle the Scratch render came from, by now it could already have embraced a more minimalistic look. And DJ Hero’s controller has been purposefully obscured from one side, perhaps hiding greater complexity. Whose is bigger better? Impossible to tell yet.

Only Scratch will have the name Numark on the side though, a name that guarantees quality. Side by side comparison after the break.
