Red Orchestra 2, now with more Nazi perspective |

A Red Orchestra sequel is on the way and this time, the people at Tripwire are bringing something many have yet to experience: Playing as the Germans. The follow-up to the WWII shooter entitled Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad will feature a single-player campaign revolving around the Battle of Stalingrad with 10-player co-op equipped.
Being developed on Unreal Engine 3, players will also take on the role of the Russians (but we’ve all done that). According to Tripwire this is “the first time ever in a first person shooter,” that gamers will play as the Germans. Now the question is, will the voice acting be genuine or will we get a bunch of shoddy English-speaking Germans?

Fisrt time playing as the german…? We played as the germans in the first Red Orchestra mod and then in Red Orchestra Ostfront. Day of Defeat also had us play as the germans.

Tripwire means first time as in playing the Germans from a singleplayer campaign perspective.

There were no heroes in Stalingrad. Only pain and suffering.

deep malakay deep.
And those who defended their homeland and family from invasion where not heroes I suppose?
I’m all for not glorifying war but give it up man.

RO2 graphics are going to be good. RO1 graphics are good but not as good as other FPS out there. With that said what made RO1 a success was the gameplay regardless of a few discrepancies in graphics. I am sure RO2 will capitalize on this and ensure gameplay stays the same.

This whole predominating line of reasoning about playing the German side is just
absolutely baffling. As though it is something new and unique. Have any of these
many reviewers ever even played RED ORCHESTRA? And all this blathering on about Nazis as
if each soldier were a sworn party member. Honestly. Sombody in the editorial staff: crack a
history book.
The choice of Stalingrad is interesting and well known enough. But the real 64000.00, yet unanswered question is:
What about vehicles, server play, tank scenarios, and all the other relevant stuff?
