With Rock Band Unplugged, the first portable version of the franchise, ready to hit the PSP on June 9 it was about time Backbone Entertainment and Harmonix released the playlist for the hotly anticipated release. Well, I didn’t actually know it existed at all but I’m sure there are a legion of salivating Rock Band aficionados, salivating for this game. Without any peripherals, Unplugged is going to be similar to Harmonix’ earlier offerings like Amplitude, which I enjoyed a great deal, sitting there with a blank stare on my face inputting buttons with my fingers before even knowing what buttons to press. It was like being high on hand-eye coordination!
Joystiq has the scoop on the songs to be packed on the UMD, as well as the songs immediately available to download from the in-game music store. The list is also available here after the break. One thing I want to note is that the game packs in Kansas’ Carry On My Wayward Son, the single greatest rock song ever conceived by humanity. I swear, you can put that song to anything and make that thing twenty times better.
Songs with a “*” beside them are apparently exclusive to the game for a limited time. Which probably means they’ll be put up to buy instead of just giving them on the disc.
