That curate’s egg of fighters, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Fighters, may just be making its way to the US after all. According to the latest Nintendo Power magazine (scan via Kotaku, from a Neogaf commenter), a feature on the game crows, “They said it couldn’t happen, but it is! Fighting extravaganza Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is coming to North America.”
It was initially thought unlikely that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom would ever make it to the US due to licensing issues with the Tatsunoko roster. Tatsunoko, for those out of the loop, is a Japanese animation studio you may remember from G-Force, Speed Racer and Pizza Samurai Cats, though of these only characters from G-Force appear in TvC. As the rights to some of Tatsunoko’s projects were sold on in the west, untangling the legal wires to facilitate a release was initially thought to be a tall task.
However, Capcom have overcome these difficulties and it seems that the willfully unique Wii-exclusive arcade port is going to make it after all, complete with revised control-scheme, left-field character line-up, Lost Planet top-down 2D schmup section and math mini-game.
We are currently awaiting release date confirmation and a response to speculation that this may be one of Capcom’s two “mystery” games for E3. Oh, and European release news would be nice too please.

Pardon my anal retentiveness, but, I detected a subtitle FAIL in the “Cross Generation of ‘Fighters’” part. The correct subtitle is: “Cross Generation of Heroes”, seeing how it is a VS series tradition for a “(non-video game entertainment company) VS Capcom” game with a four-word subtitle phrase.
Marvel VS Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
Marvel VS Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Cross Generation of HEROES

For the record, the hardware featured in the arcade version of Cross Generation of Heroes flaunts Wii-based hardware.
