E3 is coming soon, however those looking to gets some hands-on time with the OnLive service are going to be sorely disappointed. The cloud based videogame delivery service will not be shown at the annual gathering because, “more than anything, E3 is a retail-oriented conference, both for retail platforms and retail publishers, and OnLive is neither,” says Mike McGarvey, OnLive COO, in a company blog post.
McGarvey assures us that we will hear and see more about the service as the year progresses and time draws nearer to the service’s beta test and eventual launch.
We are not sure just why a company trying to sell a product would not show up for an expo meant solely for that purpose, unless they want to give the system away. If that is the case, then we have full faith in OnLive’s ability to deliver as promised.
