You could almost call it an era of reboots and origin movies, with the recent Batman movies, Star Trek and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, we’re seeing more movies that are going back to the beginning. Well, add the Tomb Raider series to the list according to producer Dan Lin who told About.com about the franchise’s reboot into the origins of the butt-kicking and scandalously dressed protagonist. “Yeah, we’re rebooting Lara Croft as well. Really excited, it’s a great origin story that we’re going to tell. A very character-oriented I would say more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies.”

With every reboot, you kind of need fresh faces, right? There are no announcements on the casting but when asked about who will play Lara Croft herself, Lin replied, “It is an origin story so it is a younger Lara Croft.” Meaning a new actress may be stepping into the role. Who do you think should fill in the shoes of Lara Croft?
