Another clock? Seriously? Is release space being squandered on Photo Clock (Nintendo, 1 player, 200 Nintendo DSi Points)? Who is using their DSi as a clock even if they can put their photos on it!? The rest of the releases aren’t quite so aggravating with American Popstar: Road to Celebrity (Gameloft, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone – Comic Mischief, 800 Nintendo DSi Points) for DSiWare, BUBBLE BOBBLE Plus! (TAITO, 1-4 players, Rated E for Everyone – Comic Mischief, 600 Wii Points) and ADVENTURE ISLAND The Beginning (Hudson Entertainment, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone – Cartoon Violence and Comic Mischief, 800 Wii Points) for WiiWare, and Clay Fighter (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen – Comic Mischief and Mild Cartoon Violence, 800 Wii Points) for the VC.
Retro fanatics will be pleased to see both Bubble Bobble and Adventure Island returning with some new gameplay. Not sure how well the revamps will stand the test of time, but if you ever played the original Adventure Island you know this one could be a real treat. Don’t see how they’ll mess up Bubble Bobble that much either.
Hitting up Clay Fighter might be fun, but having popped it in recently I realized most of my memories about it were based around the fact that it was clay and not the fact that it was a good fighter. For those who have never experienced it I say give it a try. Otherwise, no dice. Oh and American Popstar exists so if you want to play a game that supposedly mixes rhythm games with social gaming go right ahead.
