Directly after showing us more footage of FInal Fantasy XIII and before we all started to fall asleep, Sony came in and announced that Square Enix was working on another title that would be a PS3 exclusive. That title being FInal Fantasy XIV. That’s a lot of roman numerals. They rolled the trailer showing the game that is set to release sometime in 2010. At the end of the trailer the title came up showing FInal Fantasy XIV Online which suggested to us that this is Square Enix’s new MMORPG even though Sony didn’t explicitly say so during the presentation.

This is amazing. The last series to get this deep into roman numerals was the Super Bowl. It’s a good thing I’m such a football historian or I wouldn’t be able to tell which Final Fantasy we’re up to… XIV is 25, right?
