Squeezed out of yesterday’s jam-packed Microsoft E3 conference, yet still ultra-awesome, is the news that Perfect Dark, the classic Nintendo 64 FPS, is on its way to Xbox LIVE. According to a tweet by Microsoft’s Major Nelson, the game is set for a winter release this year. To celebrate, a free Perfect Dark theme will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow.

It was initially thought that a Perfect Dark port would never see the light of day (geddit!?) on Xbox LIVE thanks to licensing issues, but Microsoft and Rare have clearly been untangling the knotted legal wires to make it happen. We’re grateful for it. The game is on the floor at E3, so well hopefully bring… oh, you know the deal by now, right?
