E3 2009 / Dementium II brings horror back to the DS

In the midst of the madness that is E3, SouthPeak Games announced from the safety of Virginia that they will be the publishers of Dementium II for the DS. Teaming with Renegade Kid, developer for the first Dementium and the recently released Moon, SouthPeak Games is planning on taking us even closer to the edge of madness than ever before when the game ships in 2010.

The storyline for Dementium II will pick up where the first left off, but will incorporate more immersive audio, better visuals, and sharper scares. “Our aim isn’t for this title to be the best horror game on Nintendo DS; we want Dementium II to be regarded as one of the best horror titles in video games, on any platform,” said Richard Iggo, VP of Marketing at SouthPeak.

“Be prepared to be too frightened to power on your Nintendo DS,” said Jools Watsham, Owner and Creative Director of Renegade Kid. With the video above, it certainly seems that they are on the right track. We definitely plan on staying away from any sort of treatment center that has that sort of marketing now.
