Hows about some more Pirates?
BY Luke Walker Jun. 4th, 2009 More on:

All great stories, or rather all great movie endeavors, deserve an equally great prequel; and Pirates of the Caribbeanis about to get the prequel treatment in style with Disney Interactive’s new action RPG Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned.

Armada of the Damned will placeĀ before the events of the movies, but still “captures all of the franchise’s excitement, unpredictability and action while delving into narrative elements never before explored within this unique universe,” or so says Propaganda Games VP Dan Tudge. However, without Jack Sparrow, or more specifically Johnny Depp playing the part of Jack Sparrow, how close can they get to the awesomeness that was Pirates of the Caribbean?

Players will take the role of a pirate (probably someone new that isn’t our beloved Captain) and embark on new and epic adventures. Players will be faced with numerous moral choices that will directly effect their character as well as the world around them. Throw in some familiar supernatural elements from the films (do we detect some cursedĀ gold?), wide world exploration and combat and we may have a viable pirating opportunity.

Armada of the Damned will be sailing our way autumn 2010 for consoles and PC. Any gamer caught with a real pirated copy will also be rewarded with an arm brand courtesy of the East India Trading Company.
