I could do with a little less Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” in my Rick James’ “Give It To Me Baby,” but otherwise this first official trailer for Activision’s DJ Hero has me steeling myself to add yet another ridiculous rhythm game peripheral to my collection. The turntablist title will feature more than 80 tracks, each a unique mashup between two unlikely songs, like Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” with Rick James’ “Give It to Me Baby,”  Foo Fighters’ “Monkey Wrench” with The Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage,” and KRS-1’s “Jack of Spades” with David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance.” And if the thought of blending DJ Shadow and Ziggy Stardust doesn’t pump up your jam, know that DJ Hero will support the addition of a Hero-branded guitar and microphone for a multiplayer experience even more artfully artificial than Ms. Stefani’s music!
