Nintendo downloads for the week of June 8
BY Matthew Razak Jun. 8th, 2009 More on:

So we got some good news about today at the Nintendo E3 press conference and that is that Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! (Nintendo, 1 player, 800 DSi Points) is hitting DSiWare today. If you’ve never played any of the games in the series, it’s frantic puzzle gaming at its finest and shouldn’t be missed that’s for sure. Diving in at second most awesome game of the week is Swords & Soldiers (1-2 players, 1,000 Wii Points) for WiiWare, which is followed at a distant third place by Fish’em All (Abylight, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points). The VC game of the week, Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf (1-2 players, 800 Wii Points), isn’t competing due to a twisted ankle.

Swords and Soldiers is a side-scrolling, real-time strategy game that plays very interestingly as you might guess. The artwork for the game is also very attractive to the eye, so this might be a great game for those looking for something a bit different. For those looking for the same carp (intentional typo!) then Fish’em All should be a good fit as all it’s offering is some arcade fishing fun and a mode called Fishtris.

My gaming expertise fails when it comes to Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf. I haven’t played it and I’m not planning to, but it is a pretty popular SNES strategy game so there is no harm in it being here.

Pickin’ up Swords & Soldiers tonight. I likes color and crazy art styles too much.
