No “goofy anime voices” in NA version of Muramasa
BY Evan O'Donnell Jun. 13th, 2009 More on:

One of the crown jewels in the Wii’s E3 lineup this year, Muramasa: The Demon Blade has been captivating us with its gorgeous art style and speedy samurai action since before it was even confirmed that Ignition Entertainment would be bringing the Vanillaware-developed title to North America. Now that we know it is coming to the West, we demand to know everything there is to know about this pixel-packed slash fest.

And we’ll start by asking about the original’s Japanese language track — will there be a dub in English? According to Shane Bettenhausen, Ignition’s business development director, you won’t find any “goofy anime voices” in the NA release. Speaking with Siliconera, Bettenhausen said, “We felt the game was deeply steeped in Japanese tradition, mythology, and culture that trying to dub it, trying to make something more Western is really not a service to the product.” Bring on the sub-titles!
