Nintendo downloads for the week of June 15
BY Matthew Razak Jun. 15th, 2009 More on:

And it’s a big week for WiiWare as we get a whopping three games for it: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster (Semnat Studios, Players: 1-4, E (Everyone) - Mild Cartoon Violence, 800 Wii Points), RAINBOW ISLANDS: TOWERING ADVENTURE! (TAITO, Players: 1-2, E (Everyone) - Comic Mischief, 800 Wii Points) and Let’s CATCH (SEGA, Players: 1-4, E (Everyone) - Comic Mischief, Mild Suggestive Themes, 1,000 Wii Points). It’s a countdown from here with DSiWare offering two games — Mario Calculator (Nintendo, Players: 1, 200 Nintendo DSi Points), Mario Clock (Nintendo, Players: 1, 200 Nintendo DSi Points) — and the lonely VC offering Space Harrier (Virtual Console Arcade, SEGA, Players: 1, E (Everyone) - Animated Violence, 800 Wii Points) from the VC Arcade series.

WiiWare wins out hand-over-fist this week with all three games actually looking interesting (it’s a miracle!). If you haven’t heard of Samurai Toaster yet, get on it as the game looks to be some of the quirkiest action platforming available. Rainbow also offers up some platforming action, but more on the puzzle/jumping side than the action side. Finally Let’s CATCH is in the Let’s TAP series, and that game was criminally underrated so this one, in which you try catching things, could be worth your time too.

We’ll just skip over DSiWare as the inclusion of yet another clock and only a calculator to back it up is infuriating, especially after the genius of Mario vs. Donkey Kong. So onto Space Harrier which offers some classic “3D” shooter action and pretty much never stops moving. It could be enjoyable if you’re looking for something a bit different.
