Starcraft II Beta prepares to launch
BY Dan Chant Jun. 15th, 2009 More on:

Blizzard have had their hands full recently, World of Warcraft has approximately 11.5 million eager players worldwide so it should come as little surprise that everything else on their slate took a back seat while they catered to their loyal (and lucrative) fan base.

Fans of their intergalactic real-time strategy title StarCraft were pushed to the side to make room for orcs, Lich Kings and suchlike but no longer! StarCraft II was announced at Blizzcon 2008 Blizzard’s 2007 Worldwide Invitational (thanks for graciously keeping us in check, RolleR_RATM) and, ever since, gamers have been drooling at the prospect of getting their hands on the title. The only thing is that no release date has been set and it will, presumably, be out when it’s done.

Good news though, in an email sent out to various game writers Blizzard asked the journalists to make sure that they are signed up for Battle.net to ensure they’re ready for the beta goodness. While the email doesn’t mention any date for the beta’s release it does ask that all login requests are sorted by June 19th. So, hopefully, by the end of this month the net will be crawling with battle reports from the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg factions.

Either that or we’ll still be waiting.

hmm.. the author of this article has really no idea what the legacy of starcraft is. HE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW WHEN SC2 WAS ANNOUNCED!!! it wasn’t at BCON 2008 XD omg.

It was announced at Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in 2007 in Korea (the home of professional gaming, especially Starcraft). You guys should pay more attention when posting articles about games you dont know.
