Next Mortal Kombat: There Will Be Blood
BY Sang Nguyen Jun. 20th, 2009 More on:

With more and more developers capitalizing on the tweeting boom, a boom I wished would just fizzle already, series co-creator Ed Boon decided to give some updates on the progress of the next game in the Mortal Kombat lineage through his Twitter page. With the last game settling on a Teen rating, albeit a rather brutal one, many have been salivating for a return to the bloods and guts of the series’ past. I don’t know any of these people personally, but I’m told the saliva is flowing. On that subject the series creator twits (tweets? Tweeted? Toots? Ah, whatever) :

  • “Motion capturing special moves & fatalities today….they are kind of sick !!”
  • “Carlos & Rick O. doin some kool fatalities. I hope we aren’t taking these too far. :(”
  • “still…they are sick. :” he answered when Patrick McCarron comments, “U r absolutely right. People want an M-rated MK….dammit we will give them an M-rated MK.”

This is all exciting news, but his latest update has me the most stoked when he asks, “…wondering if peeps wanna see babalities return….”

I think I speak for us all when I say that yes, we would adore the return of babalities. Adore it.
