MAG promises 30fps, always |

MAG is an ambitious game by any gamer’s rubric. The smart and terrifyingly ballsy guys over at Zipper Interactive have decided to make a 256 player multiplayer-only experiences for console. In real life.
A new developer diary has one promise every fan of games and tech snobs will enjoy. No matter what is going on in-game, MAG is optimized to keep the frame rate at 30fps. Now that’s not too great — 60fps is what real life uses — but when you have 256 players all converging on the final capture point, with helicopters dropping in reinforcements and grenades going off left and right and the PS3 is still chugging out a lag-less 30fps you gotta show some respect.
MAG is a PS3 exclusive scheduled to come out some time this year.

Seriously why do devs play up 30fps all the time, thats bottom of the barrel gaming.
60fps is where true fluid gaming is, anything else is just console trash.

You spoiled little brat. I bet you weren’t even born when Doom2 came out & you expect 256 players with 60fps. Go find and show me a game that can do that you whiny little boy.
Console kids..

Um im 39yrs old you doosh tooth, i was playing games when your daddy was whiping your ass.
The fact that these console devs keep coming out with 30fps stats like its something special is retarded..kinda like you.
And i could give two shits about 256 ppl in a game at one time, how ghey is that? Its simply marketing bullshit from a suit. Oooh! 30fps with 256 nubs on a server, how utterly retarded.
This game will fail..kinda like you in life.
..Btw id own your ass in Doom2 kiddo.

While I agree, 3 FPS isn’t really optimal for multiplayer FPS games, where in the world did the writer come up with “60fps is what real life uses”. Last time I checked FPS are totally dependent on the equipment you have drawing/recording/playing back motion.
Real life has no frames per second. Time is virtually infinitely divisible. You could record (or animate) a person walking at 60 FPS with a regular camera (or PC) or 600 FPS with a high-speed camera (or leet PC). You could then play both videos back at their respective speeds achieving similar results (the 600 FPS recording would look smoother).

if think he ment frames per second the eye can see, 30 will obviously appear slugish , over 70 fps appears correct to the eye with no visible slow down.
