Moore calls out Obama to try EA Sports Active |

President Barack Obama hit a nerve with gamers last week when he discussed his concerns about America’s growing obesity crisis amongst youths by suggesting parents “raise our children to step away from the video games and spend more time playing outside.”
Well, it wasn’t just gamers who took it personally. EA Sport’s Peter Moore also chimed in on the President’s advice (via his blog) by cheekily suggesting Obama tries EA Sports Active and jokingly claims “I guarantee you’ll need aides saying ‘Yes You Can!’ to finish your first workout.”
Despite the humor President Obama’s remarks have certainly caused debate amongst gamers and non-gamers alike, so it will be interesting to see how this develops, especially since gaming has only recently been accepted as a serious media choice rather than something to be ashamed of.

I’m sure the PR Moore would get from this was totally an afterthought.

Anyways, I agree with Obama. It’s not really something you take personally, it’s common sense.

Maybe Obama should try the EA Active 30 Day Challenge!

Hey, I got a challenge for my fellow gamers! It’s call the “Actually Listen To What Obama Said and Realize Video Games Are Not a Religon” Challenge! All you have to do is listen to what Obama said, then realize video games should not be treated as the second coming of Jesus. It’s as easy as exploiting what Obama said for shameless promotion of a mediocre game that involves little more than wiggling remotes!
