XBLA, PSN Tales of Monkey Island a possibility
BY Lee Bradley Jun. 23rd, 2009 More on:

Telltale Games design director Dave Grossman has said the company hopes to bring the PC and WiiWare bound Tales of Monkey Island to Xbox Live Arcade, and possibly PlayStation Network too.

The new downloadable Monkey Island episodes are due to start hitting PC and WiiWare this summer, but Grossman told Eurogamer that Telltale are now thinking about a potential XBLA release. “We didn’t so much decide not to put it on Xbox Live Arcade as we decided not to put it on XBLA now,” said Grossman. “Normally what we do is PC and one of the other platforms, and we’ve been bouncing back and forth between them… Yeah, I mean I wouldn’t rule it [an XBLA release] out. We might do that one later on.”

Beyond that, Grossman revealed he would like to see the games available on all platforms, including PlayStation. ”We just haven’t gotten there yet. Ultimately, we would like to be on every downloadable channel there is. We wound up doing Xbox, but maybe later we’ll do PlayStation - we’ll see,” he said, citing the effort to get the game’s engine working on the PS3 as one of the reasons they haven’t jumped in yet.

The first of the brand-new monthly Tales of Monkey Island, called “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal,” will released for PC on Jul. 7. The WiiWare release date is yet to confirmed.
