I almost titled this article “I’m-a-gettin’ Worms 2: Armageddon“, but then I decided to maintain some degree of journalistic integrity. I’ll do my best not to gush about how excited I am that it’s out tomorrow, and how I’m going to play it all night and day, and how I’m going to be so, so happy and…
Ahem. Back to business. I touched up on this release after it was dated last week, but here’s a couple other reasons why this game might be worth 800 MP. Worms 2: Armageddon is a true sequel to 1999’s Worms Armageddon, so the entire back catalog of weaponry is on display. There’s also a few new additions, including the Sentry Gun, the Bunker Buster, and the Buffalo of Lies, which is too fantastic of a name not to mention here. Then there’s the new modes like Fort Mode and Rope Racing that are sure to boost the game’s replayability outside of the already hopelessly addicting online multiplayer.
If it sounds like I’m personally trying to sell you this game, that’s only because I am. Not that Team17 really needs my help. The original Worms has consistently been a XBLA top-seller over the past two years and I can’t imagine how that trend wouldn’t continue with this release.
In the meanwhile, have a look at the bunch of screenshots and the trailer that was sent out today below.
