Alan Wake development focuses on 360, PC version announcement to come
BY Tommy Lawler Jul. 7th, 2009 More on:

A lot of PS3 gamers have learned to adjust to the fact that, very often, Microsoft scores some timed exclusives on some pretty great games. They had to wait a while until they got to play Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, BioShock, and Eternal Sonata, to name a few. Well, it’s easy to miss the fact that PC gamers have had to do a fair share of waiting around as well. Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect, and Gears of War come to mind. And now, it sounds like there comes one more to frustrate We of the Desktop: Alan Wake.

On the official Alan Wake forums, a one Markus, who is presumed to be Markus Mäki, the game’s development director, had this to say: “Unfortunately all I can say at this point is that we’re focusing all our efforts on the 360 version and will be making comments in regards to the PC at a later in time.”

He tries to placate with a disclaimer flaunting his PC rig and saying he’s a PC gamer at heart, but following it up with such things just portends a “Short end of the stick” vibe for the duration of this game’s dev cycle. Hopefully that announcement will have a pleasant surprise tied to it.

Oh well… at least it’s coming.
