Due to ship in 2010, EA announced today that Command & Conquer 4 will mark the end of the Tiberium Saga. The game’s events take place in 2062 after the events from C&C 3 Tiberium Wars. Facing extinction, humanity becomes desperate to flush earth of the mysterious Tiberium crystal that’s depleting the planet of its life. Both factions, Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod, find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place as the world around them slowly dies. Kane, the leader of the Brotherhood of Nod sets off to the GDI headquarters which kicks off the last chapters to the Tiberium Saga.

C&C4 will feature two campaigns from the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod perspectives in both single player and co-op modes. It will also feature a new 5v5 objective-based multiplayer mode that should promote some hefty teamwork. The game is slated to release for the PC sometime in 2010 and promises to deliver “a social real-time-strategy experience never seen before in a Command & Conquer game.”
