Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games gets box art, release date
BY Nick Coffman Jul. 14th, 2009 More on:

In exciting news for people who have been frozen in time since 1994, Mario and Sonic are going to be in the same game for the first (third), time! More important things you should put in order might be the fact that you haven’t seen your friends and family for the last 15 years and no one watered your plants. Also, the internet is an exciting and viable news source in these interconnected times.

A release date has also been announced for this knock-down drag-out on ice, October 13th. Why so early in the year when the games don’t start until early the next year? One idea is that hedgehogs are know to hibernate during the winter months or that Mario has to use vacation days before the end of the year. I personally believe it’s so that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games can come out on the same day as BrĂ¼tal Legend . The first Mario and Sonic Olympics game sold 4 million worldwide despite being released during a very competitive time in November. I think Sega is just looking for a challenge. As a special treat we have the full box art for the Wii version after the break; a DS version is also coming.
